TESDA XI celebrates Year End Performance Assessment cum Gender and Development and Health and Wellness Program
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Region XI (TESDA XI) conducted their 19th Annual Sports/Health and Wellness Program and Year End Performance Assessment (YEPA) cum Gender and Development (GAD) Program last December 3-4, 2019 at the Eden Nature Park & Resort.
This year’s YEPA cum GAD Program, with a theme: Enchanted Christmas, showed the creativity of TESDA XI Personnel through their accessories and ethereal outfits.
During his special message, Engr. Lorenzo G. Macapili, TESDA XI Regional Director, encouraged everyone to participate and socialize with one another in order to foster camaraderie and promote good social relationship with one another. “I deeply encouraged you to join and build strong rapport with one another,” he said. He also emphasized that these kinds of activities help promote team leadership and creativity of each individuals.
In addition to, Ms. Myrna C. Roa, the OIC Regional Operations Division Chief, also presented the highlights and accomplishments of TESDA Region XI as of December 2. 2019. She emphasized that TESDA XI has continued to be resilient and competitive throughout the years. “Para kay kinsa man ta mubangon. Mubangon ta para sa atong pamilya. Ug kita dinhe kay pamilya (For whom do we wake up and do things for? We wake up and do these things for our family. And we, in TESDA XI, are a family),” she said.
The YEPA was also an avenue to award the best GAD Implementer for operating units and focal. The Davao City/Sur Provincial Office was awarded the 2018 Best GAD Implementer for Category 1: Provincial Offices. Meanwhile, Davao Oriental Polytechnic Institute was awarded as the 2018 Best GAD Implementer for Category 2: Training Institutions and Training Centers. For the 2018 Best GAD Focal, Ms. Liza P. Panuela, Administrative Officer V of Davao City/Sur Provincial Office nabbed the award for Category 1: Provincial Offices. Meanwhile, Ms. Oliva A. Ramos, Assistant Professor I of Davao Oriental Polytechnic Institute, nabbed the 2018 Best GAD Focal for the Category 2: Training Institutions and Training Centers.
For the 19th Annual Sports/Health and Wellness Program, they were divided into four teams namely: Yellow Phoenix, Red Dragons, Green Goblins, and Blue Dinosaur. Each teams gave their loudest and unique cheer during the Banner Raising. Furthermore, the respective teams also showcased their graceful dance moves during the cheer dance competition. Showing dominance and leadership in the court was also evident to the four teams during the basketball and volleyball games. Meanwhile, Larong Pinoy was also chosen to be played this year in order for the TESDA XI Employees to feel connected into their childhood. “Let us be children again and relieve our childhood,” Assistant Regional Director Arlyn Bandong said.
Overall, the Yellow Phoenix was declared the overall champion for the Sports fest. Meanwhile, Ms. Melanie M. Domingo, Vocational Instruction Supervisor II of Wangan National Agricultural School (WNAS), bagged the Best-Dressed Award for female category and Mr. Jonathan Samillano, Job Order of WNAS, bagged the Best-Dressed Award for Male Category.
In her closing remarks, Ms. Arlyn S. Bandong, the Assistant Regional Director and Davao del Norte Provincial Director, emphasized to everyone that we should all cherish one another and to always live in the moment. “We should always cherish all the people around us. There’s a mandate that all Job Orders will be gone by 2021. We should always be thankful to the people who have contributed a lot for this agency and to these activities,” she said.
